GAME DESIGN - Week 2 of 6

Suggested age: 3rd - 8th graders (3rd-5th will be more focused on animations and simple games, 6th-8th will be building games with more math and physics)

In this class, students will build simple games, create animations, and code several mini games.
Students will be introduced to programming fundamentals using Tynker (the #1 kids coding platform). Classes are self paced and each student will be provided a computer.
Topics covered in this workshop include:
(3rd-5th): Use sequencing, pattern recognition, loops, conditional logic to create programs. Create scenes, add sounds and music and use keyboard controls to drive your programs. Learn about motion, broadcasting messages and adding special effects.
(6th-8th): Events, keyboard and mouse interaction, conditional loops, nested loops, functions, and sending and receiving messages. Basic physics programming such as gravity, bounding boxes, bouncing, projectiles, impulses, and collisions.
